It has been a busy few months to get it all sorted, site running, designs and some PR, but finally we have made the decision to turn on the engines and make the site live. We give you Blue Power Projects, a new way of making of this a better world. We have so many things in mind that it was just impossible to publish all of it in the first run and our friends, colleagues, and family were anxious to see the results...and so are we.
Rodolfo and I had been talking for a while about quiting our jobs and work on something that we felt could truly make a contribution to future generations. We both have a background in engineering and share a strong interest for renewable energy technologies, so it was decided: we would dedicate our efforts to make this world cleaner. Thus the idea of Blue Power Projects was born. Why? We believe energies derived from "blue" sources (water, wind, geotermal) hold the key to solving the energy requirements of our world. Blue Power Projects. These are our projects. These are your projects.
After reading a few books about mass collaboration and open source that fell in my lap by chance, I became fascinated with the idea of having a global team of strongly motivated individuals that could become experts in their own way simply by contributing and expressing their will to be part of something bigger. I have found so many examples of how mass collaboration can bring overwhelmingly positive results, that applying mass collaboration to renewable energy projects was simply obvious, so we decided to let it have a strong presence in our own project.

We have prepared this first version to be as easy to handle as possible, while still providing a few tools that will help new users understand the benefits of mass collaboration and start sharing in a secure environment. I hope users will soon learn the power of a well organized brainstorming session if you have the right tools at hand and the will of motivated professionals. We have chosen dotProject as our main project management tool because of its flexibility and distributed nature. I have personally worked with it in the past and it has all the features we need in order to have a global team, while at the same time being able to control access to information very efficiently.
What you see right now is just the beginning, of course. In the following months we will be working on expanding the network, inviting experts of all natures and of any and all levels of expertise to join us. At the same time, we urge you to send us your feedback. Let us know what tools you prefer, what you like and don't like about the website, what you would like to see next, share it with your friends and family. Every little bit helps. We are exited and eager to see how Blue Power Projects takes life on its own. So let's start filling those forums, bring the talent together, and let's together evolve towards a new bright and cleaner future. Evolve...think blue!
Respectfully,
Francisco Dagnino
